Resampling Methods for Survival Parameter Estimation in a Two-Parameter Exponential Model

This study compares Bootstrap, Jackknife Delete-1, Delete-2, Delete-3 and a K-level Delete-r procedure for estimating parameters of a two-parameter exponential survival model. Monte Carlo simulation used , , , and 200 replications per scenario, followed by an NCCTG lung-cancer application. Delete-1 generally produced the smallest bias, variance and MSE, while Bootstrap showed greater variability. The K-level Delete-r method remained competitive and stable. The study provides practical evidence for selecting resampling methods and clarifies the distinction between direct Delete-r and recursive K-repeated jackknifing. Future work should examine censoring, larger sample size and other survival distributions.
