Abstract

Lifetime and survival data occur frequently in engineering, biomedical, and actuarial studies. Accurate modeling of such data is crucial for understanding failure mechanisms, predicting system reliability, and guiding decision making. This paper introduces a new flexible lifetime distribution called the Generalized Exponentiated Transmuted Weibull (GETW) distribution. The proposed distribution integrates generalization, exponentiation, and transmutation to enhance flexibility, capturing various hazards, including increasing, decreasing, unimodal, and bathtub-shaped hazards. Statistical properties, parameter estimation via maximum likelihood, a Monte Carlo simulation study, and real data applications are presented.
